“Get your Passports ready!”
I was originally going to type out some whole diatribe about how I’m a “dabbler” and not a “doer…” How I struggle with surrendering myself to something fully and my track record with committing from start to finish, from zero to hero, or anything along those lines is abysmal. Lets be real though, if you haven’t figured that out by now, you haven’t been reading.
Let me get off my personal development & self-help horse for tonight and allow me to talk about something I absolutely love.
TRAVELING!
You may have read in a previous post about my uncle, Norbert from GloboTreks.
I’ve had the pleasure of traveling a handful of times with him now.
It’s because of him that I’ve been able to go to London, Iceland, Japan, Morocco, Thailand, and a handful of other countries.
This has also birthed in me a spoiled and unsatisfied wanderlust. There’s still so much of the world to see!
After moving to the US, I had a hard time finding a solid job that payed well enough, however… after a lot of hardwork, I was finally able to get a proper foothold on my third year here in Florida.
My partner and I were fortunate enough to be able to afford not one but two week long cruises! We also hopped states for the first time last year for Norbert’s wedding! That with a string of random airbnb stay’s in St. Augustine & Sanford have given us the financial confidence to take an exciting new step…
We’re going to CANCUN in TWO WEEKS!!
HELL YEAH!
That alone was exciting news for us, especially since I recently renewed my passport so all the pages are still blank.
HOWEVER!
Because of Norbert, we’ve also been invited to take part in a trip to Turkey in September!
Holy Hell!
You have no idea how excited I am!
If you don’t mind, I’ll take a couple seconds to get sappy and then we’ll go back to the excitement.
It’s easy to lose sight of the progress we’ve made when we’re facing the day to day. I know I just went over how much we’ve been able to travel within the states recently (and we have more planned in the pipeline) but in the day to day… while sitting in that tiny cubicle (that I am completely grateful for)… it’s easy to fall into dispair.
I was recently expressing my feelings of unrest and “cabin fever” to my partner.
Like I was trapped here. But the truth is, I’m financially trapped. I think the reality is that I don’t want to depend on anyone for my income. I hate having to ask for time off to go to the doctor… or having to be stuck somewhere because even though I’ve finished my assigned work, there’s still 4 more hours on the clock.
However, I have a plan for that and I’ll get into that in next week’s post.
For now, I’m completely surrendering myself to finding my travel outfits for Cancun & Turkey! Hahahaha
I just bought a tiny Swiss Gear carry-on and I can’t wait to christen it and my passport on their first few voyages!
I’ll be sure to take loads of pictures and video to show you.
Do you have any travel plans? If not, where would you like to go?
Tell me all about it down below in the comments!
